Let's talk a little bit about what's really important to nail that job interview. There are certain characteristics that would make you really, really standout. Let's just start with the beginning. Absolutely, positively building extra time to be there about 30 minutes early. This is for a number of reasons, I'm sure you're familiar with Murphy’s Law, what can go wrong, will go wrong. Sure enough, something will have flown off some truck on the highway, on the way to your job interview, close the highway down and there you are 30 minutes behind schedule. So with that in mind, building extra time, get to the interview location a little bit early, relaxed and able to take a deep breath. When you go in, usually you have to fill out additional paperwork or if not, you may even have to deal with the security desk and get a security badge sign in. all of those factors take up extra time, you want to make sure you are early. Once you get there, make sure that cell phone is turned off. I mean, really off. It is an absolute distracter in the middle of the interview if it vibrates, if it moves around, if it makes any kind of noise. I've interviewed thousands of people in my corporate recruitment background, and anytime a cellphone is distracting in the interview, it really throws everybody off. And it doesn’t bode well for the interviewee. Another thing that would really help you nail the interview, is being really, really passionate about the position. That’s why it's important to make sure that beforehand, you’ve really taken a good hard look at the job, take a good hard look, what are your values and passion, and talents and made that match as best you can before you even go in for the interview. That way it would be totally natural for you to walk in and feel really passionate about our interview. Be sure that you're totally prepare for behavioral interview. Make sure that you have all of your examples on the forefront of your mind, make sure that you build rapport with your interviewing manager or your HR recruiter.
