How to Deal With Bad Interviewer 视频及英语文本对话

Audra Lowe: We all had some bad days but there is nothing worse than by somebody who is absolutely horrible at interviewing job applicants. It’s not good. Dr. Michael Woodward is here with some tips for you if you find yourself in that situation. Good to have you here.

Michael Woodward: Well, thanks for having me.

Audra Lowe: A lot of people find themselves in this situation, right?

Michael Woodward: Absolutely.

Audra Lowe: Okay.

Michael Woodward: Because here’s the reality when it comes to the job interview. Not this type of interview.

Audra Lowe: Yeah.

Michael Woodward: Not this type of interview.

Audra Lowe: Right, we’re in that part we’re so great.

Michael Woodward: I'm sure. But here’s the reality is that most hiring managers aren’t trained on how to do an interview.

Audra Lowe: Exactly.

Michael Woodward: So the reality is this it's up to you. This is an opportunity.

Audra Lowe: You cannot change how they are asking you the questions so like you said.

Michael Woodward: That’s a way for many situation because you go and you have knowledge and knowledge is power. So know about the company, understand what's going on -- what’s happening in the industry, read their press release, definitely look at the website.

Audra Lowe: Because their opinion is there, right?

Michael Woodward: Yeah. And understand a little bit about them.

Audra Lowe: Stability and few other things too.

Michael Woodward: Right. You have to know yourself first and know what the packages that you're offering. So when it comes to crafting a message it’s three things. First you have to establish credibility. What are you about? Why are you there? And then you have to demonstrate what your value is because they have to want you to come there.

Audra Lowe: And then who have to know your talking points because a lot of people will go in thinking one thing and then you forget once you get in there it’s just like kind of boom-boom-boom, right?

Michael Woodward: Right. And you have to be careful with this one because I'm sure in your experience you’ve come across politicians or even celebrities pitching a project and weave it into the conversation.

Audra Lowe: Right.

Michael Woodward: So they know again it goes back to those things are going to establish my credibility and make you believe me, the things are going to show my value and that show that I'm different. So you always know those talking points because if you know you're talking points you know what the fall back on, no matter—

Audra Lowe: But you have to stick to these points too right?

Michael Woodward: Right. Well, knowing your talking points is a far better way to prepare than trying to anticipate questions.

Audra Lowe: Okay.

Michael Woodward: Because you're never going to anticipate questions because most interviewers aren’t good at it. So if you know talking points you have to something to fall back on.

Audra Lowe: So fantastic book and good points thank you much Dr. Woodward.
