How should I deliver my cover letter? When you’re sending cover letters you have couples of options. Nowadays, most people are applying online. The traditional way of course was to print your letter put you resume back of it put in an envelope put it in the email. Nowadays, it’s much more likely to go by email. So I suggest a cover letter in the body of your email with the resume sent as an attachment that is the preferred way to do it. Another option would be to include the resume in you’re of the cover letter I mean in your resume file. The problem with that is the employer has to open the file before they know even why you’re contacting them by email and that is not preferred. A third method would be to take your resume and paste it into the body of your email below your cover letter that can work very well. And it means you don’t have to send an attachment but your formatting is going to be lost so it is not preferred. And then finally if you're doing an online application at a particular company, you will have one field where you paste in the body of your cover letter and another field where you paste in the resume. So in general if you’re emailing the best approach is use the body of the email for your cover letter, and attach your resume or you can do something else if you don’t have that option.
